Born on June 6, 1970 – Hon. Christopher Luxon is the 42nd Prime Minister of New Zealand.
Before entering politics, he gained prominence for his successful career in the private sector. PM Luxon is best known for his leadership role at Air New Zealand, one of the country’s major airlines, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer from 2012 to 2019.

PM Luxon studied at the University of Canterbury, earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree. His early career involved working in various management and marketing roles both in New Zealand and internationally.

PM Luxon’s impressive track record in the business world contributed to his appointment as the head of Air New Zealand.

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, is the leader of the New Zealand National Party and took office on November 27, 2023.
