At the 51st Pacific Islands Forum Meeting in Fiji in 2022, Leaders endorsed the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent, as the overarching blueprint to advance Pacific regionalism for the next three decades.

Through the Forum Officials Committee (FOC) Sub-Committee on the 2050 Strategy the Forum Secretariat continues to work closely with Member countries and the Council of Regional Organisations of the Pacific (CROP) to develop the 2050 Strategy Implementation and Monitoring Plan. The FOC Sub – Committee is co-chaired by Fiji and Cook Islands.

To ensure inclusivity and a thorough consultative process in the development the 2050 Strategy, the FOC Sub-Committee was supported by key stakeholders such as an Informal Working Group of Members, a CROP Taskforce, and Non-State Actors including civil society and the private sector, regional experts, youth and technical consultants.  These stakeholders will continue to be involved in the development of the plan and its implementation

The Implementation and Monitoring Plan will articulate key collective actions under each thematic area, delivery timeframes, implementation arrangements and partners, and resourcing requirements. This will ensure alignment between implementation and the advancement of national, regional and global objectives.
