The scholarship scheme, which was established in 2000, is currently managed by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat. Scholarships are available to citizens of Forum Island Countries and are available for full or part-time studies. Following the completion of studies, recipients are required to return to their home country to work.
Recipients are based at local and regional universities and colleges; and are pursuing studies in commerce, medicine, carpentry, engineering, marine science/affairs, information systems and agriculture. The fields of study are determined and prioritized by member countries.
The Secretariat will be advertising the 2012 Taiwan/ROC-PIF Scholarships shortly.
