REGIONAL COOPERATION AND ECONOMIC GROWTH

It is a critical and timely body of work which, in my view,
squarely demonstrates Australia’s very real commitment to our region’s welfare and to
its development prospects. For my part, I’ve been asked to speak about regional
cooperation and economic growth, economic growth being a key pillar, one of four, of
the Pacific Plan adopted by Forum Leaders in Port Moresby last year to strengthen
regional cooperation and open up the options for a deeper regional integration.
