PACIFIC ACP TRADE MINISTERS MEETING
Pacific ACP Trade Ministers will meet in Nadi from 19 - 20 June to discuss ways to strengthen their position in the negotiations with the European Union for an Economic Partnership Agreement.
The key issues include the architecture of the EPA as well as related areas such as trade in goods, services, fisheries and investment and financial instruments.
The discussions will also cover progress on the implementation of the Pacific Island Countries Trade Agreement (PICTA) and an update on World Trade Organisation issues.
The Trade Ministers will provide directions to the Regional Negotiating Machinery on the Pacific ACP's negotiating positions and for further work to be undertaken by the Forum Secretariat.
A summary from the Nadi meeting will go to Pacific ACP Leaders who comprise 14 of the Forum's 16 members.
