CROP HEADS MEET IN SAMOA
Chief executives of the Council of Regional Organizations in the Pacific (CROP) will hold their 19th annual meeting in Apia, Samoa, 9 - 10 August to discuss issues of common concern and coordination arrangements.
CROP members include the Fiji School of Medicine (FSchM), Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA), Pacific Islands Development Program (PIDP), Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS), Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC), South Pacific Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAC), South Pacific Board for Educational Assessment (SPBEA), Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Programme (SPREP), South Pacific Tourism Organization (SPTO) and the University of the South Pacific (USP).
Some of the issues to be discussed at the meeting are:
- Draft report of the joint review of the regional institutional framework;
-10th European Development Fund (EDF);
-Pacific Plan update and how CROP may best contribute to implementation;
-CROP Remuneration;
-CROP Gender Strategy Report; and
-CROP Working Group Reports.
A report from the CROP annual meeting will be tabled at the Forum Officials Committee (FOC) with key issues to be brought to the attention of Forum Leaders who will meet in Tonga, 25 - 27 October
