Dates for 40th Pacific Islands Forum confirmed

DATES FOR 40th PACIFIC ISLANDS FORUM CONFIRMED
The 40th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders’ Meeting and related meetings will be held from 4-7 August 2009 in Cairns, Australia.
The dates have been confirmed following consultation between the Government of Australia, this year’s host, and other members of the Pacific Islands Forum.
The schedule of meetings, which will be held at the Cairns Convention Centre will be as follows:
Tuesday 4 August 2009
· Smaller Island States Leaders’ Meeting
· Pacific ACP Leaders’ Meeting
Wednesday 5 August 2009
· Official Opening of the 40th Pacific Islands Forum
· 40th Pacific Islands Forum formal session
Thursday 6 August 2009
· Forum Leaders’ Retreat – Whitfield House, Cairns
Friday 7 August 2009
· 21st Post-Forum Dialogue Partners’ plenary session.
The dates for the Pacific Plan Action Committee (PPAC), Pre-Forum Forum Officials Committee, and Smaller Islands States (SIS) Officials’ Meetings, which will be held before the Forum Leaders’ meetings will be confirmed soon. These meetings will be held at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat in Suva, Fiji.
