FOC convenes special budget session

26th March 2008 FORUM OFFICIALS COMMITTEE HOLDS SPECIAL BUDGET SESSION The Forum Officials Committee (FOC), the governing body of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, will hold a special budget session in Nadi, Fiji on 3rd April to discuss several Secretariat strategic and financial issues. Among the issues to be discussed is the proposed process for the development of the Secretariat’s next corporate plan, the proposed process for a review of the Secretariat’s budget, planning and reporting procedures, and a proposed framework for regional meetings. “All the items were recommendations of the FOC meeting in Tonga last September as part of the reforms taking place at the Secretariat to ensure it is able to continue to deliver the services required of it by its members,” says Officer –in-Charge, Ms Stephanie Jones. The Forum Secretariat will also table, as it is required to do under its Financial Regulations, the Audited Financial Report for 2007 and the 2007 Work Programme Financial Analysis providing a report on the Secretariat’s work programme revenue and expenditure for last year.
