Young Professionals Programme
The Forum Secretariat strategically places a total of five young professionals from the region across its programmes. The Young Professional Programme is open to graduates and professionals who are under 30 years of age.
The Programme began at the Forum Secretariat in January 2007 to provide a framework by which outstanding undergraduate and post-graduate students from diverse backgrounds may enhance their education through practical work assignments. The Programme also seeks to foster greater understanding of challenges facing the Pacific, while providing the Secretariat with the assistance of highly qualified young people from the region.
The Young Professionals Programme was established to progress Pacific Plan Initiative 15.4, which calls for exchanges and sharing of services and expertise for regional capacity building.
